Why move permit to work off paper?
On paper, a permit to work system depends on someone walking the permit between the requester, the issuer, the area authority, and the receiver — and on nobody skipping a gas test or signature under time pressure. When an incident investigation or an operator audit asks for the permit trail, the answer is a binder in a truck.
Digital permits enforce the same controls the paper form promises. A hot work permit cannot go active without the fire watch assigned and the gas test recorded. A confined space entry cannot be signed off until the isolations are verified.
